A key element in establishing long-term relationships between reps and manufacturers is a balanced and well-drafted agreement. The purpose of this MANAcast is to educate manufacturers on how to structure a contract that works well for them and their manufacturers’ representatives and considers the unique legal and business issue in their relationship.
On this MANAcast we will talk about:
- Why the agreement needs to work well for both parties.
- What to include in the written agreement and what not to include, and why.
- Why you should retain a rep-savvy attorney to help write the agreement.
- And more.
Our panelist will be attorney Daniel E. Beederman, a partner in Schoenberg Finkel Beederman Bell Glazer, LLC, a business law firm in Chicago. In addition to serving as MANA’s legal counsel, Beederman and his firm also represent other associations whose members are independent sales representatives and manufacturers who use them, including AIM/R, ERA and others. For over 40 years Beederman has counseled reps and manufacturers on legal and business issues.
MANAcasts add value for MANA members by providing yet another type of resource that helps them improve how they operate their businesses. When you improve how you run your business, you increase your profitability.
